"Time to Close" Reflections on Life Based on My Book - a talk by Dr. Arun Singh, MD

Join us at the library on Monday, September 27th at 2pm for a talk by Dr. Arun Singh, MD. Registration required.

Dr. Arun K. Singh, MD is a thoracic surgeon in Providence, Rhode Island and has had affiliations with multiple hospitals in the area, including Miriam Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital. He received his medical degree from Darbhanga Medical College, India, and has been in practice for more than 40 years.  His surgical residency was with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and he has performed more than 15,000 cardiac surgeries and 19-20,000 total surgeries. He has been a faculty member of Brown University Medical School and continues as faculty of Bryant University. The title of his presentation is “Time to Close.”

Leaving a life marked by crippling setbacks and his father's doubt, in 1967 Singh arrived in America from India with only five dollars and the desire to claim his American dream. Faced with an entirely new culture, racism, and the lasting effects of disabling childhood injuries, through hard work and perseverance he overcame all odds. Here Singh reflects on his most memorable patients and his personal life.

Please note: No books will be sold at this event, but Dr. Singh is willing to sign personal copies of his book.

Registration is required, as space is limited. To register, contact Lauren Walker at lwalker@coventrylibrary.org or 401-822-9104.
