The Coventry Public Library and Coventry Town Hall provide notary services to the public free of charge.
This service is generally available during normal business hours. Please call to confirm a notary is available at 401-822-9100 ahead of time to be sure the notary is available.
Proper governmental identification with a signature is required and all documents must be signed in the presence of the notary. Please visit the RI Secretary of State’s Notary Public Information page to learn more about the notary process.
What / who do I need to bring?
One of the document signers can't make it. Can I have them sign the document and then bring it to you for notarization?
No. All document signers must be present, and the form must be signed in front of the notary.
Can I get a notarized copy of a birth, marriage, or death certificate?
No. Vital records that are available from your local City Clerk or Records Office cannot be copy certified by any notary. They must be requested from the City Clerk.
